Minutes – Regular Meeting, August 16, 2021

The meeting was called to order at 4:11PM at the Cemetery.

Present were Trustees Lani Farr, Lisa Hammond and Lynda Edmonds.  Also present were Bill Morris and Greg Taylor, Manager Doug Basolo, Assistant Manager Logan Marlow, Jamie Alamillo from Alamillo Landscape and community members Ari Larson and Marjie Bartels.

 

ELECTION OF OFFICERS – Lynda nominated Lani Farr for President, Lisa made the 2nd and the motion passed.  Lani nominated Lynda for Secretary, Lisa made the 2nd and the motion passed.

PUBLIC COMMENT – None

 

MANAGER’S REPORT – Doug reported the hydraulic line had broken on the backhoe and been repaired.  The air conditioner had to be replaced in the cemetery house.  The last information he had on the new tent we ordered was it should be here end of September, 1st of October.

LANDSCAPE REPORT – Jamie submitted his proposal for the coming year including options for tree maintenance.  Lani moved to go ahead withOption 2 which is the pine tree maintenance at a cost of $5,390 for 14 pine trees in addition to the regular landscape fee of $3200 per month.  Lynda made the 2nd and the motion passed.

MINUTES – Lani moved the minutes of the previous meeting on June 21, 2021 be approved as presented.  Lisa made the 2nd and the motion passed.

FINANCIAL REPORT – The Financial Report was accepted and filed.

OLD BUSINESS

  1.  Audit – Lynda reported she had talked to Steve McFadden, our accountant, and there were a few mistakes made by the Auditors in relation to PERS and as soon as these are corrected we will send them a check for their services.
  2. Office – Lisa and Lani will take over ands determine how the office can be redone.
  3. Volunteer Day – Lani reported we had 10-12 volunteers this past Saturday and that she and Lynda had also attended. There was a discussion if this was done on the 2nd Saturday of the month on a regular basis if we could get more community involvement.  This has previously been organized by others and it was questioned if the Cemetery advertised it as a work day would there be a liability.  Lynda will check with Brian Miller at Supervisor Long’s office and County Counsel if necessary.

NEW BUSINESS

  1. PRIORITIES LIST – Lani suggested since there had been a problem keeping the plants alive in the planters at the Columbarium we consider putting in bark or see about the possibility of turning them into benches.  It was decided to do bark for now.  Greg Taylor will look at them regarding the possibility of benches in the future.  The painting on the front fence was discussed and we will try and get a price for this project.  The repair of fences was also discussed and Doug will get a price for this project.

OTHER – NONE

EXECUTIVE SESSION – The Board went into Executive Session to discuss a grave problem.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 5:45 until October 18, 2021 unless the need arises sooner.
