PUBLIC COMMENT – None
MANAGER’S REPORT – The gophers are looking better and all is going good with the new landscape company. The gates are now being locked by Logan on a daily basis.
MINUTES – Rita moved the minutes of July 20th be approved as presented. Lani made the 2nd and the motion passed.
FINANCIAL REPORT – We have not yet received the Financial Report ending September 30th
OLD BUSINESS
AUDIT – Lynda reported the audit should be completed in about 2 weeks.
LANDSCAPE – Jamie gave a report of what he has been doing the past 7 weeks since his company took over our landscaping. We really need to fertilize and he has found a natural product that needs to be applied in the next 2 weeks. We need a good watering schedule. He will get the cost before he proceeds. He was give the go ahead with the fertilizer as long as the cost is not prohibitive.
HEADSTONE & TENT – Lynda reported she had been contacted regarding us not having the tent available for services, particularly on hot days. Doug reported he had been approached about this at a service by a non-family member. The family was told if they wished they could bring and set up their own shade or bring umbrellas but social distancing had to be done. The Board felt this was appropriate due to the lack of shade provided by the Cemetery. Our tent needs to be replaced and we will look into this in the Spring. Doug & Lynda had also been contacted regarding a headstone that a corner has normal wear and tear. The person complaining had been invited to come to the meeting to discuss but did not come. This was tabled until we hear further.
NEW BUSINESS
CEMETERY ISSUES – We have some dead trees and dead limbs that need to be removed, headstones that need to be straightened, a water leak and our problems with rabbits and squirrels need to be addressed. Jamie will get some bids for the trees. We need to try to control the rabbits & squirrels along with our gophers which are doing better. The fact we are in the middle of an agricultural area unlike a lot of cemeteries creates this to be ore of a problem.
CEMETERY POLICIES – Doug has a file for Cemetery Policies which he will email to all board members. Rita had a call from a gentleman from Santa Paula with no family here wanting to be buried in Bardsdale. She had to explain to him that that could not be done.
EXECUTIVE – Lani moved and Rita made the second to go into Executive Session. Approved. Lynda reported there was nothing new on the legal issue.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 5PM.
